Hi everybody,

firstly thanks for those who were helping, I know late saturday, and
early Sunday isn't the best time for responses.

I have now managed to fix it (3 steps).

first I guest guess partition to see what it thought was really there

equinox:/home/maxwelld# gpart /dev/hdc

secondly I saved the MBR and the partition table (haha, there wasn't
really one)

dd if=/dev/hdc of=mbr bs=512 count=1

And thirdly, I used gpart, and told it that I had faith in what it
believed was in the first partition, and for it to re-create the
partition table

gpart -W /dev/hdc /dev/hdc

Oh yes, and I suppose forth, I rebooted as advised after running gpart.

And it worked :)

Cheers

Max.
